About Us
-Isaiah 61:3 - Amplified

To grant {consolation and joy} to those who mourn in Zion -
to give them an ornament (a garland or diadem) of beauty
instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, the garment
{expressive} of praise instead of a heavy, burdened, and failing
spirit - that they may be called oaks of righteousness {lofty,
strong, and magnificent, distinguished for uprightness, justice,
and right standing with God}, the planting of the Lord, the He
may be glorified.
The Lighthouse, a home for unwed mothers, is located in Reeves, Louisiana.  We opened our
doors in June 2001, and have been a real home to more than 100 young women since then.

In 1987 the Lord gave me a vision of ministering to young women who are in desperate need
of restoration.  It has truly been marvelous in our eyes to watch the hand of God bring "The
Lighthouse" to fruition.

We are a 501C organization supported by monthly partners and several churches.  A benefit
banquet is held each year in March to promote awareness in our area and to raise much needed
funding for the year ahead.  While we are licensed by the state, we do not receive state or
federal grants.

The Lighthouse is not only a safe haven for young women, but also a wonderful place for
people who want to volunteer their gifts and talents.

At the Lighthouse, we teach how generational curses can be
broken and how the girls can have a new beginning.
When a new girl arrives with all her heavy
burdens and hopelessness we know that
she has an opportunity for change.
-Isaiah 43.19 - Amplified

Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall
spring forth, shall you not know it.  I will
even make a way in the wilderness and
rivers in the desert.
-Isaiah 58.12 - Amplified

And they who shall be of you shall build the
old waste place; you shall raise up the
foundations of many generations and you
shall be called the repairer of the breach, the
restorer of paths to dwell in.
