`The Lighthouse, a home for unwed mothers, is located in Reeves, Louisiana.  We opened our doors in June 2001, and have been a real home to more than 100 young women in need since then. 

In 1987, the Lord gave me a vision of ministering to young women who are in desperate need of restoration.  It has truly been marvelous in our eyes to watch the hand of God bring "The Lighthouse" to fruition.

We are a 501C non profit organization supported by monthly partners and several churches.  A benefit banquet is held each year in March to promote awareness in our area and to raise much needed funding for the year ahead.  We are licensed by the state to minister to young women between the ages of 12-30.

The Lighthouse is not only a safe haven for young women, but also a wonderful place for people who want to volunteer their gifts and talents.

Isaiah 58:12

And your ancient ruins shall be rebuilt; you shall raise up the foundations of many generations, and you shall be called Repairer of the Breach, Restorer of Streets to Dwell in.

When a new girl arrives with all her heavy burdens and hopelessness, we know that she has an opportunity for a new beginning.

Behold, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs forth; do you not percieve and know it and will you not give heed to it? I will even make a way in the wildnerness and rivers in the desert.

Isaiah 61:3

To grant [consolation and joy] to those who mourn in Zion - to give them an ornament of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a heavy, burdened, and failing spirit - that they may be called oaks of righteousness [lofty, strong, and magnificent, distinguished for uprightness, justice, and right standing with God], the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.

Why Lighthouse...

The Lighthouse is a home to better meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of young women experiencing an unplanned pregnancy.

They are welcome to step away from the world and all of its pressures and take time to reflect on their past decisions and plans for their future.

A great staff of people will guide them in making quality decisions.

The exciting thing is that our family is very active in our local church, The Grand Church in Kinder, La. as well as Lighthouse Ministries, Inc.

Are they facing single parenting, adoption, parenting with someone else's help or marriage?  No matter what the decision, at The Lighthouse, they will learn that each presents unique challenges and rewards.

Patsy has ministered to thousands of hurting people for more than 40 years.  She teaches in many area churches and conducts a weekly support group called "Eye of the Storm".
