Patsy Lyles Cavenah is the Founder/Director of Lighthouse Ministries, Inc. She was married for forty-nine years to the late Allen Cavenah who passed away March 6, 2010. They have four sons who are married to very special women and twelve beautiful grandchildren. Two of the sons, Greg and Paul, are pastors. Pete and Scott are very active members of The Grand Church. Paul and Sheila pastor The Grand Church in Kinder, La. Greg and DeAnna pastor Full Life Assembly in DeQuincy, La.        

Patsy is an ordained minister. She ministers in area churches and flows in the gifts of the Holy Spirit. There have been many testimonies of miracles occurring in people’s lives.

Patsy opened The Lighthouse in June 2001. The Lighthouse is licensed by the state of Louisiana to house six pregnant girls ages twelve to thirty years of age. It seems that “I must always pioneer my dreams, but what joy when we see the lives of girls turn from ashes to beauty.” The Lighthouse staff and volunteers have ministered to over one hundred young ladies, many of whom have drastically changed. If a girl comes to The Lighthouse and desires change, every opportunity is made available for her. Patsy says she could not have been successful alone; it is those who give financially, those who volunteer their gifts and talents, and a great staff. Together we have become a Lighthouse.

In 1994, Patsy started a support group called “Eye of The Storm” in Kinder, La. Hundreds of people have been changed though this ministry dealing with root causes of addictions and emotional pain. Many men and women have been set free since that time. The Eye of the Storm presently meets at180 Lighthouse Lane in Reeves, La every other Monday night at 7:00 p.m. In June of 2010, a second location of Eye of the Storm began and is conducted at Full Life Assembly in DeQuincy, La. The meeting is held every other Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.

Patsy also began a conference in 1995 called Nuggets of Gold that is held during the month of October. There are testimonies each year of how men and women leave changed as well as refreshed.

In 2010, Patsy ministered in Trinidad West Indies and the nation of Guyana.

Plans are under way to build a new facility to house more unwed mothers who will return with their babies until they become more established.
