Meet The Director

Patsy Lyles Cavenah is the founder and director of Lighthouse Ministries, Inc. She was married for forty-nine years to the late Allen Cavenah who passed away March 6, 2010. They have four sons who are married to very special women.  Patsy is the grandmother of twenty grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Two of the sons, Greg and Paul, are pastors.  Paul and Sheila pastor The Grand Church in Kinder, La. and Greg and DeAnna pastor Full Life Assembly in DeQuincy, La.  Pete and Scott serve in the Children's department and the Worship team respectively at the Grand Church in Kinder.

Patsy is an ordained minister and has ministered to thousands of people for more than forty years.  There have been many testimonies of miracles occurring in people’s lives as she flows in the gifts of the Holy Spirit.  She has also ministered in Trinidad West Indies, Grenada, St. Vincent, Belize, and the nation of Guyana.

In 1987, the Lord gave Patsy an open vision of a Children's home.  He spoke to her that she would minister to those who are down trodden, broken hearted, and sick.  That vision became more clear in the 1990's and she knew that this work would begin with an unwed mothers home. "It seems as though I'm always pioneering my dreams."  It has truly been marvelous in our eyes to watch the hand of God bring The Lighthouse to fruition. Patsy's greatest reward from living in a house of pregnant girls over the past fifteen years was to watch God turn ashes into beauty right before your eyes.

She saw a great need to supply a home in this area for young women, ages twelve to thirty, as an alternative to abortion.  Patsy opened the Lighthouse unwed mothers home June 2001.  She pioneered this home licensed by the state and ministered to over 250 girls ages twelve to thrity along with their babies. The staff and volunteers assisted in the healing and education of these girls.  Most of the girls have struggled with addictions, abandonment, neglect, victims of human trafficking with many other issues.  These girls come in as misfits and many leave completely changed.  After fifteen years of living in the house with the girls, the staff and girls have transitioned next door into a new facility and have become a Child Residential Center.   The Lighthouse Child Residential Center opened in December 2016.

Patsy is available to speak at your organization meetings, home groups, ladies meetings, as well as your church.
